Beta Chi National Sorority History

Beta Chi National Sorority was founded by 6 women in Washington, D.C.

  • Dorothy Russell

  • Hilda Weadon

  • Helen Wheeler

The Beta Chi Charter was recorded in D.C.

Inaugural Convention

The first Beta Chi convention was held in Washington, D.C. and it was the first year that National Officer's were elected.

First National Officer's and their corresponding chapters: 

  • President - Madaline Brown - Alpha

  • Vice President - Elaine Geidel - Beta

  • Secretary - Myrtle Edell - Delta

  • Treasurer - Florence Dougherty - Alpha

Currently

Continuous Growth

Since it's inaugural year, Beta Chi has continued to grow and change with the world around it.  Every two years, a national convention is held, all of the monies that have been raised are presented to the current charity, and a new charity is chosen and announced.
